Victoria Beckham was recently asked what her favorite beauty product is and she answered:

“Hmmmm… favorite beauty product? Ummm… I’d probably have to say Touche Eclat by Yves Saint Laurent because, obviously, having three kids, I’m up half the night with them. And it hides a multitude of sins, like the bags under my eyes!”

We just arrived home from a one-day business trip to Salt Lake City that began at 3:30 this morning.

Sort of.

Our alarm was set for 3:30 a.m. but since we were up until well after midnight last night trying to get our photo-banner-thingy on our new site to work (we were unsuccessful, but it’s finally working now — yay!) we lingered in bed for half a second before getting up.

Sort of.

When we opened our eyes, it was 4:22 a.m — meaning, we had precisely 8 minutes to get ourself ready and out the door.

After screaming a few expletives to no one in particular while turning circles of confusion in our dark bedroom, we realized nothing would change the fact that the airport is 30 miles away and we needed to be there by 5:00 a.m.

We quickly pulled our hair into a messy-chic ponytail (our favorite day-two-hair look), threw some makeup into our tote bag with the intention of applying it after we made it safely through the security line, and slipped on the worst shoes we could have possibly selected for travelling. (What can we say, we hadn’t had our coffee yet.)

Where we were lacking in shoe-choosing abilities, we totally made up for in our Makeup Bag. After just ten minutes in the airport bathroom we showed no evidence of having less than 4 hours of sleep and actually felt confident and ready to take on our busy day.

Our must-have beauty items? (We thought you’d never ask.)

Aside from having to walk six blocks in three-inch pumps, our day in Salt Lake City turned out better than we imagined. We caught up with an old friend, Melissa, over lunch and dished about our favorite beauty products and some SECRETS (because what are friends for if not a little hot gossip?) before heading off to our meeting.

Now we’re finally home and laughing to ourself because Melissa just left us a message that she stopped by the cosmetics counter on her way home and threw down $200 on some of our product recommendations.

Now, that’s what friends are for.

Bobbi Brown Concealer to Go, $20

If you were to walk by a product that promised to enhance your skin in sensual ways, could you turn a cheek?

Be honest.

Ever since Melissa from DeLush told us that she uses Kevyn Aucoin’s Sensual Skin Enhancer to achieve perfect skin (our words, not hers, because she really does have perfect skin) we’ve been dying to try it.

This product was created by makeup artist Kevyn Aucoin to replicate the look of healthy, radiant, dewy skin (which is a look that Kevyn created beautifully on his clients.)

The Sensual Skin Enhance can be a tad tricky, as it is VERY concentrated so you only need a pin sized amount. After you’ve sparingly applied to freshly moisturized skin, use the warmth of your fingertip to blend, blend, blend. And then blend some more.

With 16 shades to choose from, you can use this as a concealer, a highlighting foundation, or an all over foundation. Once this product sets, it isn’t going ANYWHERE, so it’s perfect for a 14 hour work day, or a night out dancing. (We prefer the latter.)

While it’s not cheap, the Sensual Skin Enhancer and the recommended application brush (which has the tiniest tip to prevent users from applying too much product at once) set us back $75 (including tax) but it was totally worth every penny.

Especially since we heard that Bobbi Brown is coming out with Concealer to Go, a matchbox sized mirror compact with Creamy Concealer, Corrector and Sheer Finish Pressed Powder (all in one), expected to hit the counters in January 2007.

Um, yeah. That is like THREE MONTHS FROM NOW.

We can’t take it. This Concealer to Go is going to be so much better than our favorite Creamy Concealer Kit whose loose powder can get kind of messy when we’re travelling. (And because of the mess-factor, this isn’t something we can just throw into our purse, either.)

These next three months will be torture while we wait for this product to be released, but mark our words, we will be the first in line to get it come January.

Once again, we were up late last night.

We wish we could say it was due to a few too many martinis and a DJ that wouldn’t quit, but instead we’ll tell you the truth: our beloved PowerBook G4 decided to take a turn for the worse and screamed, “I’M HAVING A PANIC ATTACK. A KERNAL PANIC ATTACK! AND IF YOU DON’T HELP ME NOW, YOU WILL NEVER AGAIN SEE YOUR FILES!”

If saving 10 thousand photos is not enough to keep a girl up all night then we don’t know what is.

Needless to say, we look lovely this morning.

Wrassling with our computer has left us with tired, dark, puffy eyes and a lackluster complexion. Being the beauty product obsessed ho that we are actually has some perks because this morning we were prepared. Sitting on our bathroom counter was Benefit’s Realness of Concealness ready to rescue us from a frustrated night of cussing into the darkness at no one in particular (because who would listen to us? NO ONE. The rest of the world was sleeping.)
