Clinique Shy Blush vs Bobbi Brown Mauve Blush

Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick in Shy Blush from Erika Valente on Vimeo .

Yesterday we attempted to make a video showing you how the Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick in Shy Blush and the new Bobbi Brown Mauve Blush from the Fall 2008 Mauve Collection are a near-perfect match.

Not that this means anything other than, we fell in love with Shy Blush —so how perfect is it that our Goddess Bobbi Brown created the (almost) exact color for her new Mauve Palette. She had us on her mind, we’re sure of it.

If you watch the video you’ll notice how a little pest happened upon the taping and took over. We tried to re-shoot, but once the offender knew a video was being made WITHOUT HER IN IT she would not leave us alone. (This type of pestering is typical here at the Makeup Bag corporate office.)

So much for our live comparison of these awesome blushes.

Clinique Shy Blush vs Bobbi Brown Mauve Blush

In this photo, the Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick looks much darker, but it’s actually fairly sheer.

Both colors have a slight peach undertone (Clinique’s being a little more apparent) and can be layered for more drama.

Tell us what you think. Pretty, no?

Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick

Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick

Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick is our favorite new product.

This cream-to-powder blush stick is a long-wearing, water-resistant formula that’s suitable for all skin types. It’s so quick and easy to apply (we dab it on and blend with our fingers) and gives us a natural-looking glow.

If you want a more dramatic punch of color, just add a few extra strokes and build up to your desired intensity—it’s so easy to blend.

Blushwear Cream Stick ($18.50) is available in these beautiful shades:

  • Glow Blush (nude)
  • Peachy Blush (tawny)
  • Rosy Blush (pink)
  • Shy Blush (violet)

Surprisingly, we like Shy Blush a shade we thought might be too dark for our complexion, but blends so naturally into our skin for a healthy look.

Clinique Blushwear Cream Stick is available beginning July 2008 at Clinique counters nationwide and online at Clinique.com .
