We’ve been a longtime fan of Chanel’s Glossimer lip gloss with its sheer smooth consistency and total non-stickiness (a lip gloss DON’T for us.) Our favorite shade has been Brilliance, a nearly clear shade of pale pink that is perfect with EVERYTHING and feels like satin on our lips. NO JOKE!

Despite the fact that we have already acquired 5 new lip glosses and lipsticks in the last week (Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Lip Gloss in Garnet and Slopes, Hard Candy Sweet Spot Lip Gloss in Hippie Chick, Flirt! Squeeze Me Super Shiney Lip Gloss in Pink Champagne and Shiseido Shimmering Lipstick in Rouge Irise SL8 at the recommendation of Beauty Addict) we could not leave the Chanel counter last night without bringing home Imaginaire, a new sparkle red plum lip gloss from Chanel’s Fall Colour Collection.

If you’ve worn Glossimer lip gloss before, you know that these colors are very sheer, so when we say it’s a sparkle red plum, we really mean a very subtle sparkle red plum.

Bobbi Brown’s Sparkles & Rubies Collection has two new shades of shimmer lip gloss that we just can’t do without this season, even though these have a stickier consistency than we typically like in a lip gloss.

Garnet, a medium brick red gloss with medium coverage (because garnet is our birthstone! and our favorite color is red, so we had to have it) and Slopes, a flushed red with full coverage.

Both of these shades have a hint of shimmer and are limited-edition colors, so get yours now before they run out.

Also, we were able to find the much sought after Diamond Dust Eyeshadow in Gilded on the Saks Fifth Avenue website. Every department store in our area as well as the Bobbi Brown website has been sold out of this shade so we are very excited to finally be getting it!

We’re a little under the weather this week, fighting the sniffles, a sore throat, and an overwhelming desire to curl up in a set of 600 thread count sheets and sleep for the next three days.

Despite our suffering, however, the show must go on.

And so we drag ourself out of bed and into the shower where we stand under the scalding hot water for 34 minutes, not thinking of the havoc we’re wreaking on our skin but wondering how we’re going to muster the strength to get ourself ready for work.

On days like these, we don’t have to dig too deep into our makeup bag because Stila has just the product we need to give our ruddy, tottering complexion a happy little boost. All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer adds sheen and luminosity when we need it the most. Our favorite shade is number 3 as it has just enough yellow to combat the redness that this nasty cold has left us with and shimmer to give our skin a glow.

This doesn’t mean we no longer feel like sleeping for three days, but at least we have the confidence to get out the door.

After reading Carla’s review on Urban Decay’s Deluxe Eyeshadows, we couldn’t help but make a special trip to Sephora to have another look. (We had seen these shadows before and admired the funky packaging, but thought the jewel toned colors might be a bit much for us.)

Upon further inspection, we found that in addition to some incredibly bright (gorgeous, but bright) and intense colors, there were two shades that seemed perfect for our brown eyes: Adore (electric blue) and Zero (smoking black.)

These colors are just as intense as the six others in this collection, but paired with our favorite neutrals like NARS Cyprus, a bronze with shimmer or Laura Mercier Pewter, a grey green charcoal shimmer and these shadows are gently muted and suitable for everyday.

Being hopelessly addicted to lip balm, lip gloss, chap stick, lip smackers, or really anything worthy of moisturizing our lips (we’ve been known to use baby lotion when we’re in a pinch) we can’t help but notice when someone is in desperate need of some lip therapy.

For some reason, Renee Zellweger ALWAYS HAS CHAPPED LIPS! What is up with that? Is it because she doesn’t want to carry a clutch to her red carpet events and ends up high and dry by the end of the evening? Does she like her lips looking so parched that if she dared to crack a smile they might split and fall off?

We believe that beauty begins with great skin (and a great attitude, of course!) which is probably why we have a drawer full of exfoliators, eye creams, night creams, sun screens, serums, toners and masks. Seriously, we should have a skin care party. Want to come over?

Even though we take meticulous care of our skin, try to exercise and eat right (and drink right!) there’s still those times when we need all the help we can get.

Lately our combination skin has taken more stock in the “Oily” market and leaving us with an unflattering shininess come lunch time. Fortunately for us, there’s products out there for catastrophes like this and Bourjois has just the remedy.

We’re not shy in admitting that autumn is our favorite season.

But somehow, the carefree days of summer are still holding us back. We’re not fully in fall’s groove yet and we found the best beauty product to help us portray this.

Estee Lauder’s Cool Bronze Loose Powder from their Amber Bronze collection is light, sheer, and has enough coolness that when we first applied it we thought our powder brush was damp.
